What's a fun DPS or Healer to play?

Shaman.... DPS and Heal

shaman
1) dps
2) heal
3) gobbo

Zealot/shaman for heal.

I have thought about the Shaman Class. It looks diverse and fun. How's the solo play? PvP?

I'd recommend healing first. Simply because you will very quickly notice a shortage of healers and especially good ones.

Healing is not only fun, but is a great way to learn the game (just heal everything the hell up and run basically).

Once you get your footing, you can move to more challenging classes. That being said, melee squid herder is pretty damn fun. So is Black Orc.

What you're looking for is the Archmage

As a beginner, if you choose a healer, go for healing and don't think about doing damage. It will help your team much more than an inexperienced dps healer.
