Copy&paste the client, no install needed. It all depends on your network security, whether internet connections are blocked or not.

maybe more detailed 2 questions.
1) is ror safe for company software?
2) ror leaves any notifications in system files?

Ask your network admin whether it is save. xD
Unless all you are doing is logged, there should be no changes to your system files at all.

You can also just run it off of a flash drive.

Like a console game, plug and play.

No, RoR is not safe company software, as your company (if its atleast... 100-200+ employees) will have a policy to not install anything that isnt work related. This is regardless if the game is candy crush or RoR.
While it might not leave files, it would leave other traces (the easiest for a sysadmin/network/security to find would be the network traffic). If you want to play games at work, i would rather suggest to use your own PC, as the consequences of being found out might be more severe then you would want.
Again, it all comes down to what kind of company you work for.
