Return of Reckoning

To begin with, I main defensive IB and mostly play scenarios. I think I've gotten enough Emblems to buy the Dominator set twice over now but still only have 4 conq pieces from the entirety if time since conq/dom came out. There should be a way to convert emblems to medallions. It just doesn't make sense that there is no armor reward for the main spec in scenarios and vice versa. Even off spec IBs arguably should wear some conq to get their defensive stats up if they aren't going full dominator. So for off spec there is incentive in both scen and orvr but not for main spec?

Why is it that to get good gear to compete in scens I need to play Orvr? Currently, and most of the rest of the time, I personally have no fun in Orvr bc it is dominated by detsro zergs and order has constant aao and playing outside of the once per week guild event is suicide imo. AAO is only good if you can get kills, which requires a grp and time if you are a snb tank. I can get good returns out of "pug" scens for investing 1 hour but not the same for "pug" orvr. In Orvr I just end up sending unanswered prayers to RNGesus. But, that's fine, if ppl love orvr let them play it by all means, I just don't want to be forced to play it to get main spec gear for my tank. I just don't want to have to slog through hours of getting crushed by destro just in the hopes of getting a bag with conq in it so I can quit and go back to scens. Order needs more defensive tanks in scens but you can't get def gear if you play scens so you play orvr and not scens. seems like a cycle of class balance poverty.

I guess ultimately I don't understand why the game is set up as play orvr for main spec and scens for off spec. I expect the argument would be that "we need an incentive for ppl to play orvr" but that logic is faulty because under the same theory, there is no "incentive that ppl play scens" because not everyone is going to care about getting off spec gear. I know one can be a "solo roamer" or join a 6 man in Orvr but that doesn't really contribute to the campaign and essentially like playing a scen but with more space (and chance of getting steamrolled by 2 wbs). I also don't see why orvr should be viewed as the "main" component of the game. Whether one prefers to PvP in the scens or open battlegrounds shouldn't I be able to buy gear for the spec I want with the rewards?

When the last rvr gear was made , there was no PvE dungeon were to place the alt spec gear . I guess scenario was the best place at this time for it .

Im not sure we will make more scenario gear , next set will be in rvr and dungeons .

So bis pvp gear from pve. Well I suppose if you are remaking Mythics game you may aswell copy their mistakes.

I think abandoning sc's as a part of progression may not be a good idea. I do think sometimes the devs are a bit too obsessed with rvr without really addressing the fact it is rather being forced on people at this point rather than a choice.

With the current zerg issues it's not even an enjoyable choice anymore.

Torque, I think that is a good idea as opposed to a cruel one. Do the same with genesis, 2 pieces from sc and 2 from rvr.

The thing is your statement isn't entirely true "You dont get access to everything you want from one method of play". Under th crrent set you do get everything from one method of play. Genesis, conq and sunjugator are ALL behind the RvR bag wall. SC just provides the "off-spec" gear and a weapon set.

To progress in this game you have to do RvR, there is no choice in this.

It's not really an rvr game. RvR currently is chase the pigeon round the bos till siege, they may aswell replace the music with the benny hill soundtrack at this point.

I hate doing SCs. People always vote for the worst possible PuG option.

I agree with Fallenkezef, 50/50 would be a better system than all one or the other. That way if I prefer scens I cant get half of my main spec gear that way rather than going 100% orvr. As far as armor is concerned, there is nothing in scens for a main spec tank. The genesis jewels alone would be a reason to do orvr even if I could get main spec armor from scens. I can get everything I need for off spec 2h tank from scens minus the jewels. Main spec gear from scens is the weapon and shield but its pretty equal to subjagator.

Sooner or later you guys will need to address the stagnation of rvr somehow. That being said I've never been one to risk a ban for dissent, it's always been clear that it's your server and your rules, or else. I'll not trouble you further on this issue.
