State of the Game? Downloading now!

I used to play this in college and enjoyed it! I am downloading the client now and will be trying to get some friends to check it out back again with me. Just have a couple of questions. 1) What is the current state of the game and available to everyone playing this version? 2) Is it the same way it was, or has there been any type of overhaul at all? 3) Anything else I should know before I download and play?

1) T1 is playable, there are some bugs, since last patch there are some lags, max lvl 12/ RR 20 atm
2) Main goal is to recreate the original game, maybe with some balancing alterations in the future
3) join order!
Edit: according to the devs, new areas come soon (TM)

T1 is playable, including PvP and everything? Just want to know everything is still in the game, I guess up to that point.

Yes T1 is playable, but just don't estimate a bugfree game yet. They have to rebuild the whole server and the database. Also some major features like crafting don't work yet.

Essentially everything in T1 RvR is working. There are 2 scenarios (Gates of Ekrund, and Nordenwatch), which alternative roughly each week. The max career level is 12, and most of the ability kinks have been ironed out. Renown rank cap is 20 (for now), but points cannot be spent yet, as it's not been implemented.
Morals and tactics work for the most part, and RvR is functioning in all 3 zones, Empire/Chaos, Elfs/Dark Elfs, and Greenskins/Dwarfs.
PQs are not functioning yet, but most pve quests are working.

You can make toons on both factions, level up, join Guilds, play RvR events (see the forums) etc.
It's fun, welcome back.
Progress is also good. Max and the team have been updating with patches just about every month for some time now. They are doing a fantastic job so far, and possibly they have been recruiting more people to help, but I don't know what they are really up to.
Oh, and we have had 2 original weekend style events so far!! Complete with original quest and item rewards!!!
