Return of Reckoning

Hello
I played the game long time ago and am decided to give it a shot now, was wondering which class to start for a small man something that can kill fast in term of solo or 2-3 man party am still not sure which class I should play yet but mainly thinking of mara and DOKif anything else is better please advice me

Mara is dps DOK is healer.
So mara if you want to deal damage.
Sure could go dps dok but wont have the burst.

so mara can out dps a DOK , what about the other DPS classes like choppa / BG / BO in term of dps which comes first

BG and BO are tanks.
Choppa synergizes great with a mara.
Mara easily out dps a DOK when it comes to burst.

sweet what about BG and BO as a tank can they go 2handed and deal good dmg when needed

Yes, just need gear and high rr on BO.

DPS DOK is perfectly viable in 6-man settings. Lacks the burst, as Dalgri said, but makes up for it with maaaad sustained/AoE pressure - plus you have access to the best heal debuff in the game.

I would go Mara if u like both of em. There's no contest for me if I consider various points of view.

Mara is a good pick.
It has a wide variety of tools who improve the damage of your group (armor debuff , ap regen debuff , toughness , block parry , wounds debuff, snare), has a good survivability (aoe detaunt 10s cooldown and the monstrosity stance who immune armor pen and give a heal over time) , and deal respectable damage ( i often hit 4 digit damage number on appropriate target).
Dps dok is imo good ,but are viable at high level of rr, gear , and skill.

And to be honest mara is the best assist in a melee group. He can play with all other mdps ,the combo is great.
You play with a 2 handed bg ? Great , use a brutality build and spamm impale for 1200 damage and guillotine for 2k damage.
With a choppa ? Ok play in savagery and see your choppa hit for absurd amount once your target are debuffed.
With another marau ? Savagery for one / brutality gor the other !
In wb ? Go on monstro and aoe morale debuff.

Mara is the most complete class in the game imo ,
Excels in all formats , solo group and wb .
Dps Dok is great in the right hands but you won’t be liked in wb as dps , there are better classes for dps and utility , so option is to heal ,
Solo and group you can do well ,
I would take Mara in group over dok and would only take u in wb as heal,
