Return of Reckoning

Hi everyone!

I'm an old veteran player of WAR, and have been playing it on and off every since the pre-launch back in 2008. In the end, I quit the game for good because of the ridiculous class stacking and imbalanced pvp. What I saw was:

- Stacking of one ranged class a.k.a. Sorcerers and Bright Wizards (AoE Bombers)
- Stacking of one tank class a.k.a. Chosens and Knights of the Blazing (Disabling) Sun
- Stacking of one healer class a.k.a. DoKs and Warrior Priests (AoE healers)

I'd like to mention that I quit in December 2009, and didn't really check up on the game after that. So how was the game at the end? Did you guys experience this pattern? And if yes, did it ever change before WAR was shut down?

Was it anything like this? Tier 4 RvR = Bombing

Edit: I can see from http://warhammeronline.wikia.com/wiki/Patch that there was quite a lot of patches after I left.
Now, I know the level limit is only 12 at the moment, so it's hard to say how max level is gonna be, but I'm gonna try and roll a character I find fun at max level. Not one that's dominating in Tier 1

the classes you mentioned were the kings through and through. it actually got really bad for some down the line - engi, magus, SM, BO, they were so bad they weren't worth playing. class balance did not improve one iota from 2009 onwards, it got much worse

In all mass PvPs(GW2, Archeage, ESO) the AOE damage is core to be succesfull, when You fight zerg. However I would say at the end of AoR, more party/warbands were more single target oriented, than spam AOEs like in the movie.
Classes who dominate T1 are the same classes who dominate T1 on live servers. In terms of ST/AOE dmg is still sorceress + bright wizard.

I have to admit, the reason I made this thread was because I saw a huge number of Dwarves in my current guild, so I figured that they had been buffed or were op on this server somehow. Guess not ^^

in t1 it's not a big issue. engis and magus are actually pretty powerful here, BOs and SMs do well too. there are no classes in RoR as it is that i'd call useless or even underpowered really

Plus, we now have people developing the game who can listen nad make changes for the better.

That's always a plus, but I honestly don't know if they'll fiddle around with the balancing. Might piss some people off, if they go off to their own balancing, and not the official game's balance. I personally wouldn't mind it, though.

I heard about that. Wasn't Sorc/BW running around more or less one-shotting people after that?
