Black Box

Ok, wanted to give this game a try, downloaded full game, installed and ran client. All works got 2 green boxes for servers, click on connect and get the Warhammer logo then a black rectangle with sound as though it was running through the starting scenario but after that nothing....seems like a video error. Can anyone help with this one.

Did you install DirectX?
STEP 6
INSTALLING DIRECTX RUNTIMES
DirectX 9.0c is required for Warhammer to run correctly. This step is important for players running Windows 10 as it is not installed by default, although some older games may have it installed already.
Download DirectX 9.0c from the Microsoft website here:
DirectX End-User Runtimes, and install it.

I have tried that already but it fails to install saying the version I already have is newer than the one I'm trying to install

You will have to get the correct version of direct x installed. Cant really help you with that though. You will have to look for answers in the microsoft forums about direct x related problems... Sry.
