Looking for crafting advices: Salvaging / Talisman Making

Hi folks,

due to getting kind of boring with RvR/SCs and not having invested much time in crafting in the past (and being short on gold^^), I'm actually leveling a Slayer as Scavenging (around lvl 125) alt, while having Salvaging (around lvl 125) and Talisman Making (around lvl 75) on my main, as stated in the Wiki.

Until now I pushed my Slayer through mostly PQs, like the first and second stage of hard ones or simply where many mobs are around.
On my main I then salvage the dropped parts, and using them along with essences and gold dust I scavenged before.

I'm now looking for some hints or advice as kind of "best practise" for doing it, or do I just keep it doing like above.

Can anyone tell me where "good spots" for scavenging are?

Is it necessary to use relic boxes with an appropriate higher level for making talismans, like the ones that only drop from PQ or RvR bags? Or do I just have a better chance for purple talismans than with let's say relic box lvl 1?

Last but not least: I have a bunch of spare medaillons (1k Officer, 450 Conq) and several bags from RvR, does it make sense to buy stuff for salvaging from war quarter vendors? (No, I don't need any of those for gearing up.)

Thanks in advance! :-)

If you're just leveling, I wouldn't worry about buying anything to salvage. Wait until you're 200 for that. I would just keep doing what you're doing. Farm humanoid mobs on your slayer for Scavenging and pass any items you have to your Salvager. Use whatever the closest relic box you have to your level is (the lvl 50s from vendor). The "good" spots for scavenging are wherever there's a lot of humanoids... normally elf and empire zones and normally around PQs but not always. You can also check the AH for cheap green fragments to level your talisman making (willpower is normally the cheapest, followed by intelligence and ballistic skill).

it's the fastest way to do, stop after 150 it's expensive
