Character Name

I went to reroll a character and when I tried to use the same name it said it wasn't available. From what I've learned in game this is known and that I have to wait for a server reset, which happens on Fridays. Just wanted to double check if this is true? Annoying to have to wait til Friday but it isn't the end of the world.
