Not able to conect (Blank black box)

Hello, I know this isn't a new issue but I've tried everything I've seen in the forum, reinstalling the game, reinstalling the launcher, restarting the computer, obviously running the launcher as administrator, changing my computer's time... Nothing working. When I run the launcher the game starts OK but then I get the initial screen with the music and so on, but also with a blank black box with nothing in it. If I let the screen run for several seconds a message appears saying "critical error: Authentication failed -- application will now terminate". I've entered two times after trying for almost an hour until the blank black box finally connects to the server and lets me play. Is there anything else I can do? What could be the problem? I know at the end I am able to play but having to spend more time entering the game than actually playing it is exhausting.
If it helps, I am connecting from Barcelona, Spain, though I don't think that can be an issue.

I have the same issue sometimes of the first login attempt. I have found that you have to close out the game, the launcher, then open the launcher again, and try again to get it to work.

Try running the game as administrator. It may work

How are you connecting to your internet; with WiFi or Lan cable to modem/router?
Launch command prompt and :-
ping 178.32.58.46
The replies should be well under 20ms from Spain.
if you receive un-resolvable on any of the 4 attempts, then do
tracert 178.32.58.46
some will * * * as not all route icmp traffic, but if you hit a wall before your isp then its local to you, i.e somebodies taking all your internet most likely, or you have a bad cable. the trace should take less than 20-30 steps.

Thanks for the answer! I did what you said, no attempts failed (4= sent, 4= recieved, 0= lost), and the ms media was 35. Honestly I don't know much about computers so I don't completely get what this means or has to do with the game, but hope it helps solve my problem!

Have you tried power cycling your brouter(s)?
the black box stands out? war.exe instantiates a windowless dialog with war logo. could that be it?
Launch the command prompt again as admin and type in:-
chkdsk c:
should say running in read-only mode. leave to run through the 3-5 steps.
you should end up with windows has scanned the file system and no problems found. no further action needed*
if no problems found you can skip ahead of the next chkdsk command and restarts.
If check disk Does report any problems run this command:-
chkdsk c: /F
Will say a check has been entered for next start-up
Shutdown your PC normally and then power back on and let windows boot and run the disk checks.
Once you have again restarted back into windows go back into command prompt and continue:-
Next run this command:-
dfrgui
Within the optimize drives dialog. are there any disks listed as needing optimizing?
(note don't analyze any SSD drives)
run the optimizations as recommended in current status columns. on some hhd disks (magnetic) this could take a few minutes to run through there passes.
Dose any other program take some notable time to load up have you recently noticed?
are Windows Updates stuck?

Thanks again for the reply. I forgot to tell you, I'm connecting through wifi, not a LAN cable. I don't know how to power cycle my router. If I launch the WAR.exe file, it gets me to a black screen, then to a "Critical error" message which says "Warhammer could not run correctly. Please run WarPatch.exe to patch and launch Warhammer". I don't think that's the problem though because as this is a private server it has to be launched through the launcher, so the WAR.exe file does never work without the ROR launcher file.
I also did all the operations in the command but everything appears as normal, and there's no fragmentations in any of my computer's discs.
Hmmm I don't use the computer quite much except for playing this game so I haven't noticed nothing weird, it's a 4 year old laptop anyway, I knew I had to play with the lowest graphics and so on, but doesn't matter to me. As for the Windows Updates, I don't know how to check if my computer is updated but I'd swear it is, a couple of weeks ago it started downloading and applying updates when I turned it on.
