Return of Reckoning

Wondering what the official protocol is for GM/Devs warning players and threatening banishment.

I, as well as another Order player was warned in a tell today that we would be banned. The player in question stated they were a Dev and provided no further proof. Myself and the other player who was warned do not have screenshots, but it was a very similar direct message exchange. None of us want to get banned so we of course obliged the command. Asking around, the validity of person claiming to be a Dev came into question (Not disputing this either way)

My question is this. We as players, if we get warned by a direct message in blue with no GM tag, how are we to proceed? Is it okay to ask the person stating they are GM/Dev to speak with with their GM tag on? Are the GM/Devs required to follow guidelines when warning players or threatening banishment?

Sincerely asking the above questions so the player base knows how to proceed when warned. Serious question. No troll please.

Members of the staff PMs are written in yellows when they are telling you something and they also have the tag next to the name.

I think the guy was trolling you.

I think Zaxx knows that. He's asking how he should respectfully proceed if someone claims to be a staff member while not tagged.

Send me a PM and i deal with them. We all use [GM] tags when giving out indications.

If someone tells you he's a cop without showing the badge and tries to use his supposedly police authority on you, do you listen to him? I wouldn't unless he shows me he's one.

I'd use the same approach here. And report it to the appropriate people.

I had this last week. Messing around in Altdorf, testing some new Khazalid warcries and I got a random tell

"This is an English game, stop spamming Polish or I'll ban you."

Or words to that effect. Asked him how he'd ban me and he claimed to be a gm. I just told him to bugger off.
