Greetings!

I have been playing a SW for 3 years now but can't seem to kite or position myself well enough to truely feel that I am of any use against the Forces of Destuction and would be very happy to find a way to improve myself.
Any tips or tricks are more then appreciated. :)

Try solo roaming in rvr lakes, should help you improve your situational awareness

First question that is super important: EU or NA?

Are you getting cought by other players/groups or do you lose 1v1 that you think you should win?

Both am I ashamed to say. And I lose almost all of my 1v1 battles from Magus to Witch elves.

So based on the fact that you're EU i'd say you don't pre-kite and you have a poor grasp on gauging range. So after you DoT up and Snare stay back if you can; if they're slowed you can always catch them (plus you can mount up if you need to and Eye Shot them down). Once you get a better understanding on what 65 ft - 100 ft looks like you'll be able to position yourself a little better. Make sure your buffhead is set to show Snarebreakers and immunities so you don't waste CD's on immune targes. I'm assuming in a 1v1 you rush your Eye Shot at the start; lead with Takedown and once they pop snare immunity/breaker let them get within 60 ft and Eye Shot (as in eye shot hits when within 60 ft not start the cast at 60 ft); keep up damage while they're knocked down and get within 30 ft to WP away (while they're still knocked down) and start kiting again. By the time WP's slow wears off Takedown should be back up but as long as your damage is poo-poo they should be dead unless they're a tank. Its all about controlling the flow of distance.

A defensive magus will kill you 9/10 times if you're skirmish for WE's you need to get good at the above mentioned strategy.

Biggest thing is to really work on your understanding of range esp since you're EU and don't deal with desync; gonna take you a good amount of practice though.

Pretty much what fen said. <65ft is death. So stay out of it and don't think you have to finish an Acid Arrow or something like that if you're getting pushed. If you've got a charging mdps, it's much better to kite than to finish a stationary ability.
