Return of Reckoning

So I have been browsing over the forums looking for a solution to this problem and have come up empty handed. I have already tried both launched, closing down all firewalls (Microsoft Security Essentials, Malware Bits, Microsoft Firewall) I have run the launcher as an admin. I have also tried switching compatibility modes and on top of that tried replacying my data.myp / launchers provided by JeFawk/Elven. I've also gone into command prompt to ping the server I'll leave the image below.

I have been trying to figure out the issue to play with my friends but I am at my wits end, is there anything I can do? I have no crash reports seeing as it does not write any. I log into the launcher the game pops up but I can not choose a server or create a character and after a short while (40 seconds or less) the error pops up, please help.

It's an epic "mythical" issue.

You saw my thread? I use KIS 2014. Disabling firewall is useless.

Sarasil had the same problem. I couldn't fix it. They changed something on the server as the packet sent towards the server's IP, port 8048 by the client was did not have any reply from the server.

Basically it was like this:
client -> hello server, I am user xxx, this is my password yyy
server -> hello user xxx, your credentials are correct, you can login with this authentication key
client -> got it, thanks, can you pass me to the character server then?

And then everything stops. After 24 seconds (the timeout in the mythloginconfig file) the connection times out. I changed the timeout to 5 minutes in hope of miracles but as I thought nothing happened.

Elven suggested to use Hotspot shield. It worked for some people. It **** my laptop badly a few times.

I hate hotspot shield so I'll be passing on that fix sadly. It's a really risky program seeing as it installs hidden programs and many other underhanded things. I have a theory about my issue which stems from me messing with my services.msc in which I turned off my Base Filtering Engine (BFE). I did this for a work around on Star Citizenm I highly doubt it would effect the IP connect but it's worth a shot.

Also is there a chance they will be able to reverse what ever they did with the server? This issue seems to be effecting a good chunk of the population. If not it seems like I'm going to have to just back away from the server seeing I'm unable to play with my friends.

Edit, also couldn't I just use a different VPN service? Best Proxy Switcher is a lot safer and I'm able to upload my own IP's? I mean it seems as if people are just using Hotspot to hide themselves which BPS does with end to end encryption using SSL.

Alright, update time. I am using a different VPN service that isn't a malware farm and data mining program (Cyberghost 5) I was able to connect to the server but I am now bouncing between "Locating battle," and "Searching for Allies".

Fixed the issue, you can close the thread or keep it open. I'd be willing to help those with the same issue, it's really a simple fix. Down load any VPN that has encryption and or hides your traffic, use it to open the game once at the server selection screen feel free to turn it off and enjoy playing
