New Player Looking For Advice

Hey guys,
So I'm just getting into the game and looking for some recommendations.
There's a lot of classes, and a lot of different paths, so it kinda seems overwhelming.
I really enjoy skirmishing, I know the theme is big RvR which is awesome, but I like to break off sometimes and go after the outliers.
Any class that excels in small group damage dealing?

Skirmishing eh?
Look at Shadow Warrior in Order side or Squig Herder in Destruction side.
These two classes are physical Ranged DPS, the best at kiting but they also have paths for a more stationary style and even one for melee combat (I hope that's what you meant by "skirmishing").

Squig Herder and Shadow Warrior for the ranged approach with Witch Elf and Witch Hunter for the stealth/assassin approach would suit you best.
