Server down

why do the servers go down sometimes a couple times a day? I mean I just restarted yesterday but its gone down multiple times since yesterday morning so just curious is that like just how it is? or are you guys fixing stuff or what?
and does anyone know how long they generally go down for? was just getting ready to do all nighter

ahhh k, I had just logged in for like 2minutes then it went down so was like wth? any idea how long? or should I just crash now get a early start tomorrow?

Rule of thumb: normally they patch on Friday night NA every week. It's only down for a few minutes most of the time.
