I keep getting this error even though I know Im typing everything correctly, I've reset my password several times, I am able to log into the forums here, but not into the launcher. I dont understand. Help?

There's really nothing we do for this. We don't have access to passwords, and we wouldn't muck around with them if we did.

Use a simple password. A-Z a-z 0-9, 8 characters. It takes some time to update the gameserver, so don't change it immediately if it doesn't work.

Well can you confirm if the user name for the forums will be the same one to log into the client? Im pretty sure it is, but Im not 100%

Yes. Forum account = Game account.

I think its just a matter of waiting until my password change caches up with the game servers then, as you had stated.
On average...how long does that process take? or rough estimate?

I actually managed to solve this by experimentation and I wanted to revive this topic so if anyone else is searching for a fix for this, there is now a known solution, as a public service:

When you reset your password, the site gives you a long string of random numbers and letters. You can log into the website just fine, but place the password in the launcher, it wont accept it, because it's got a character limit. Go to the website, go to your account settings and change your password, now that you're logged back in, to something shorter, 8 or less characters, and you will be able to log into the launcher now.
