Dps Dok. How is it these days?

After the logical class changes I want to know if dps dok is solo viable in pvp. Mostly 1v1 cos really I think is a role much suited than group support.

Frankly who wants a dps melee dok if you can have a mara or choppa.

I could be wrong tho.

Any good dps doks can answer?

Very viable in 1v1 and group pvp. Brings very good sustained and an aoe hd, and is very tough to take down.

However, it's likely harder to play the class well than a backline healer and you'll probably be better once you're able to tweak your gear and gain high rr. Needless to say there are very good DPS doks and very bad DPS doks.

Definitely, DPS Dok on live was very dependent on good gear in order to do enough damage to actually be viable. With the right gear setup you could effectively be a DPS and healer at the same time for PvE play and a seriously hard to kill DPS in pvp that provided out of group healing to other mDPS (until Mythic made some retarded changes to the lifetaps that unfortunately still persist here). To give an example from PVE, when doing 8th boss TOVL we lost the other healer, the off-tank and 1 dps, and me (dps dok as 'off'-healer), the last dps and MT was able to outdamage the enrage timer before we messed up the shatter timing once (got him to ~30% from 80%). This was all before rr100 came out.

Here you have less gear available, which makes you less effective than you would be if you had access to RR80 gear compared to dedicated DPS classes. It's still fun to play, though, and it makes PvE farming stupid easy.
