Return of Reckoning

I have not played this game in a LONG time, and I'd love some advice on what to play (and what not to play) on Destro. I'll be duoing with a friend who is leveling a zealot. We're gonna spend most of our time in ORvR and scenarios.

I like all the classes in WAR, but I don't want to get punished playing a mDPS if everyone's playing ranged in the scenarios. What would you pick to duo with a zealot?

Sorc would make a good choice.

when order goes ranged heavy in SCs you either instantly win or nothing happens for 15 minutes cause they're 50% healers

go choppa, he can at least defend the zeal somewhat. mara is also an option if you don't want to be an orc for some strange reason. every destro SC team is already gonna have 2 other sorcs, minimum

SH is my favorite class to duo with. As a duo, you have to kite/zerg surf a bit. Sorcs are great, but too squishy and not enough running away.

Honestly though, it depends on your playstyle more than anything...

I'm gonna go a different direction and say why not something like a 2h blorc? Dps are always going to plentiful and having something like a healer/tank duo (where the tank can still deal decent damage) might be valuable.

It can be. The main problem I have found with duo or small man grps, is that you need the party to be generally centered on one facet. Melee, ranged, kiting, ganking, etc. Whatever it is, everyone needs to be on a class/spec that is on the same page. Duoing Z/BO could be fun at times, but with the BO needing to be in melee, and with only 1 healer, the chances of getting overrun are large. And you have no DPS to kite with... That'd be a decent unit if you wanted to run an AoE DPS Z though... Double Debuff(triple with Z M1) is VERY nice.

I enjoy both mDPS and rDPS. I'd probably level a mara or a sorc. I'm just still on the fence whether I want to play melee or ranged - I feel like rolling a ranged so I can dps from afar might be more beneficial overall.

Fair points! Then yeah if you want to be a duo even in rvr you probably want something versatile like a mara or an rdps like a SH or sorc (understanding that sorc isn't the best rdps to kite with)
