Return of Reckoning

Is there a mechanism which tells you, at a glance, where everybody is in the world? Even if it was just general regions rather than exact co-ordinates.

I'd like to play where other people are, where the world is more densely populated, where there is a real, live population as opposed to just NPCs.

I see areas which look like they were designed for so many players at once and they're deserted and it's sad, and it would be nice to see the world full of players again.

If there isn't such a mechanism, would it be possible to add one?

I believe the default key bind is O. This is the built in search function.

There's also an addon called ZonePOP you could use.
