Account not active but email and username still in system

I have tried to find a solution to this but i couldn't find it on here. The issue is my account isn't active so I read the faq about it and it said to make a new account so i tried to but my username and email are still in the system and wont let me register. It's been awhile since I last played been busy but any help with this is appreciated.
P.S. I used my alternate email for this account

Hello,
I'm having the exact same issue. "Your account is not active."
I even used the activation link from a few years ago and it says:
"You have already activated your account."
Also tried to change my password.
I'm writing this from the account in question so my forum-login
is obviously working.
I'd be glad if someone could help

Change your password in user control panel to force update your account to the game server.

This + logging out and resending an activation email worked for me.
