Subjugator weapons a little underwhelming?

I was lucky enough to get the WL Subjugator weapon last night. I've got to say I was a little surprised how underwhelming the stats are on the weapon, considering how rare these weapons are.

Considering the Genesis jewels from the blue bags are BiS and far better than any other jewels available, I had thought the Subjugator weapons would be a similar step up from any other weapon previously available.

The stats are something like: (not exact because im at work)

79 DPS
47 Str
47 Tough
47 WS
3 crit
10% chance to proc 25% heal debuff

I havent done he math or testing yet: but in a fotm group setting this weapon appears a worse option than the the T4 dwarf/greenskin or officers SC weapons that we had previously.

Is that intentional?

Given that the means to acquire one of these weapons is, at least , partially dependent upon a RNG roll, it shouldn't be as powerful as the new scenario weapon, or the influence weapon, IMO (both of which require a heck of a lot of grinding/investment). It's still a step-up from the old sc weapon, just lacks the melee power (more crit/weapon DPS, though).

Besides, the weapon now essentially gives you a DPS WP with the proc :)

Obviously, I share your view that BiS gear shouldn't be linked to RNG acquisition. I was only surprised that the weapon wasn't a big step up in power because the current precedent set on the server is that BiS gear is, usually, obtained from RNG methods.

Unlike on live, where each new tier was a significant step up in power, it seems the devs here take a more measured approach and try to keep gear sets a little more competitive with each other.

It's balanced stat between offense and defense
with proc that offer utility
SC weapons are more focused on dedicated role

It gives variety, open up new play style maybe
like mix of armor sets

or just gear for solo player

I can see the weapon proc potentially having use if you were to run the outgoing HD spec, with a SM bringing the armor debuff via beastlord proc. Could be interesting to try stuff out. Good for solo, too.

I must say I was not impressed by the purple weapons so far (saw WL axe and a one hander for Kotbs), SCs look more consistent and I think it's the right way: SC babies require a lot of work, whereas RNGjesus might be a troll and never kiss the most devoted player.

I'd like to see other drops to go on with the comparison, if anybody has one post it here please :)

And long may it last. The last thing we need is massive power-creep, which allows well-geared people to basically farm lowbies at will. Gear should give you a very slight advantage, it shouldn't be the deciding factor or otherwise the server will die a certain death as "undergeared" players don't stand a chance and will leave in droves.

I'm pleased that the Devs are taking that view as well, although I am concerned that some of the procs seem a bit too good. Procs just add another layer of RNG to combat, I'd rather have no procs on these weapons and slightly better core stats.
