I'm having this same problem. Sometimes it just works and I can get in, but only after hours of trying periodically. I've tried everything I've seen suggested in the forums.

And I have the same :) but I can tell you for sure that is something to do with internet connection because instead of connecting via my broadband connection I tried my phone connection (via hot spot) and that worked with torrent, firewall etc. ON. So it must be something wrong with the configuration of my router. I tried turning on and off main things in router config tool website 192.168.1.1 and I didn't manage.
Is there anybody here who uses TalkTalk broadband and router and has no issues with connection to RoR server?

I am using talktalk, too, and having the same issues (authentication terminated/blabla).

Literally moments after typing this, I can now log on without a VPN. LOL

EDIT: Moments after typing that ^, I can't again. I'm starting to think it's because my brother and I share a connection/limited number of the same IP allowed?

Occasionally, I can log in too but that happens once every 30 tries... I am getting frustrated tbh :(

@peterthepan3
I do not share my connection with anybody and I can't log in so it is not about sharing your connection with other people.

I think I'll email m internet provider maybe they will help me out with this.
