How viable is a WP as a full on heal bot? Are they only viable as melee healers right now?

The .ab ex changes have been reversed until the patcher is released and access to the client granted. They are extremely viable now.

Given that you have few posts and are likely low level, I should expand on Gerv's comments and say that they are extremely viable at higher level. Before level 20, you don't have touch of the divine, which is the Warrior Priest's main group heal. Before level 25, you don't have Pious Restoration, which is one of the more efficient heals available to WP.

In the interim levels, WP is kind of a hybrid class. Until you get at least those two heals, you'll have a hard time keeping people alive without going into melee to use divine assault, which is your channeled lifetap. After level 25, with a blue quality book for the 6 RF/sec regen, you can start to stay behind your group and heal effectively.
