When can I look forward to not having to use a VPN?

Something is wrong with your server accepting connections.

Even with port forwards on, firewalls disabled. DMZ.. Whatever, logins still freeze in 'most' cases. Sometimes I get through, other times I do not. Is there some kind of DOS/DDOS protection causing these issues? My ISP is fine. My firewall is fine - Fortigate 200D, which is about a $3,000.00 firewall which I have in my home. (NSE8 Fortinet Engineer)

As an external DOCSIS Engineer for my cable provider I have validated no ports (other than SMTP25) are being blocked at the pipe and just for the sake of being able to do it I opened up my IP on the node I am connected to.

So to be honest, it's RoR.. I've eliminated all other possibilities I can think of.

I don't even have a proper image macro for that.
Anyway, where are you connecting from?

If you are on a mac airport with nat somewhere it islikely the culprit.

Bought a Cisco and bridge mode the airport... hepp! Works!

Regardless if you can test with another fw hardware/sw I'd do it.

Fortigate is solid so I'm guessing ports server is set up on are unfortunate in some way
