Hello everyone i have some questions here about unusual performance problems and advices about NVIDIA control panel here.If you will be so kind to reply i will feel glad.

F irst of all i want to type down my system specs down:
It is an ASUS laptop
Intel CORE i3 5005U @ 2GHZ
RAM DDR3 4 GB
Graphic Card one is onboard card i think and other one is NVIDIA GEforce 920m 2gbram

System is running on windows 10.
It is a new laptop and i havent downloaded new drivers for graphics and also i am not sure if new driver would be good since sometimes old games may have problems with them.

My problem is i am having unusual fps drops from time to time especially in 1 WB vs another one but suprisingly this changes depending on the maps.Scenarios are nice got no problem.

And i am trying to listen advices and changing it to windowed fullscreen and when i for example press ALT+ENTER to make it full again i get graphical glitches like my characters skin gets funky colours ,missing limbs or head (creepy).

I also want to know what should i exactly choose i n NVIDIA control PANEL.Like the option multiple display mode/single display mode and other minor details in the panel because in there for example there is an option for getting benefits from multiple cores and someone told me this game is old and does not benefit from multiple cores etc... so what to do ? Would be so kind to tell me what to pick from NVIDIA CONTROL panel aswell ? I am willing to send screenies JUST help me with this problem cause i really enjoy this server the game and the athmossphere and as a WITCH HUNTER i need smooth gameplay more than anyone else i guess.

I disabled every addon.And i would love to know what to do with that option in video part of the game GPU CACHE MEMORY bar(to the left ? to the right ? middle?) Also there is a box with shader performance bla bla in the video menu aswell.

Also when i go windowed i do not know if i get performance increase of place but the games color scheme changes like it gets brighter in fullscreen etc. Anyways if you are an expert and help me i will be so happy Sigmar BLESS YOU.


(i wasnt using windows 10 until last month and i heard it has really bad applications which are running background and i tried to disable them but i am not sure if i did everything in the name of tweaking it so advices welcome if you are sure.)


I am sure out there people who can benefit from this thanks in advance !


(PS:I APPLIED 4gb patch to W AR.EXE someone told me to use it since warhammer is not getting benefits from 4GB ram etc..)

Windowed mode should give you better performance, switching to and from won't do anything, you should actually play in windowed mode, it's behaves much better on modern PCs. Deselecting the show border option makes the two modes nearly identical.

And yes, switching between the two can give you graphical anomalies. Just testing this I saw a Squig with orc arms riding a wolf...

What other games do you play, do you notice any FPS drops/stuttering in those?

Edit: The days of not wanting to update drivers cause they brought instability/performance loss is gone, generaly speaking it's safe to keep the graphics card drivers updated.

First of all thanks for answering,i play diablo 3 without any problem.Borderlands 2 aswell,Mordheim runs very slow tho,those new age shaders i think creates drama in low spec laptops thats why.also i play Paladins sometimes it runs smooth.I know its not the best laptop also

I would try and update the drivers but I can't really give you an answer as to what settings you should try in nVidia panel as atm I'm playing on integrated graphics atm.

Could you give me a list of addons you're using? I've been having weird FPS drops out of the blue as well and it feels like it's an addon messing with me since /rel (reloading the UI) solves it.

memory upgrade will be a good idea tbh for win 10.

If you have character models, and animations as well as visual spell effects set to all, then you will likely experience lag when 50 some odd people are fighting in one area.

Try setting down some of the graphics settings and moving on from there.

thank you for the advices i play on fastest framerate and will get another 4gbram soon ,hope it will make things better also i am suspicious about this nvidia graph card and the onboard one are maybe having trouble with eachother you never know thanks and im still open for advices!

A weird issue i've come across recently is that WaR and vanilla WoW have been forcing my PC to sleep mode or even completely shutting it down. Playing on a pretty crap laptop, but havent seen this issue when I play other games. Any tips?

I tested WAR a bit with my shiny new 1070 and I'm experiencing the same issues in large scale combat. GPU utilization seems to be around 20% but the core and memory frequencies seem to be dropping to idle for some reason. Power/temp not an issue at all. It's weird because as long as it's not over a WB of people around fighting the FPS is capped and all other games work as they should.

Need to figure this out but it's a bit difficult to test it cause I basically need to be in a keep siege. :p

Edit: I guess I should check if the CPU is bottlenecking, in which case WTFisthisgame. Same FPS with a dedicated GPU and an iGPU. -.-

On nvidia panel, select war using more performance/power instead of more graphic you can get more fps.

No that was the first thing I tried, but thank you for the suggestion.
