Good class for guerrilla warfare

This is my first post on this forum so hello to everyone and greetings from Poland!
Few short words of introduction - I have played WAR on official servers and I have been watching Return of Reckoning for months. I am really impressed by work done here by devs. I already have great respect for all the staff.

Now to the point - on official servers I had most fun with orvr small skirmishes, luring enemy to traps, attacking last enemy from passing zerg, hit and run etc. However I do not have much of experience with WAR and as far as I know this server is balanced a little bit different than official servers classwise (correct me if I am wrong). So please advise, which classes (both sides) would be good for such playstyle?

oh, and I have been searching for overall classes forum but it seems there is non. I hope General Discussion is good for this question.

Unlike live people on this server are much more organized and are generally much better players. There is also no gear gap to give people massive advantages. The lakes are also less filled with random players or solo/small groups. Most of what you will run into is either a zerg or a premade.

Now this is just my experience, but I feel like soloing on the traditional WH/WE or any class without sustain or ability to deal with everything is just suicide on this server.

DPS shaman/AM are probably your best bet (AM would be a god if it had gobbo racial tactics), then squig herder and SW. WH/WE are good for picking off one person, but from experience if you solo on this server most of your fights are going to be 1vX. Engineer/Magus are alright... but lack of a healdebuff means you insta lose any fight involving a healer.

WL is good at solo roaming and in small groups. A lot of dps, some skills to help you flee to safety (sprint) and a warlion buggy as hell but useful (i use him to get chasers off their horses while running away, with my camera panned back. It works more than you might think)

From my experience, Shamans and Squig Herders (with Run Away) were amazing at that. Same with Archmages and Shadow Warriors. These 4 classes usually let you kill an enemy fast enough before the zerg comes in to save them. WHs and WEs were also okay at this but you usually die more often with them especially if there are numerous enemies but the advantage you got was stealthing in case you're out of position.

I would go for dps shamy. In burst they are equal to AM. Maybe hit harder thanks to solid toughness debuff and their puddle debuff resistances (AM one debuff ini I think).

Not to mention their Gork Sez Stop morale that would finish anyone who try to escape or give u more time to gtfo when some1 is gonna chase you.

As was mentioned - gobbo has great racial tactics that help him to kite very well and when played smart you would be able to retreat when enemies come for you relatively easy even in dps spec.

SW have some tools that makes him also nice solo dps - heal debuff, ranged knockdown (and you wont be kd from range cuz destro lack this ability), ranged snare + self punt with aoe snare.
Same with SH. With Run away! ability you will be able not only to gtfo but also catch some routed enemy.

I havent played WE or WH on this server outside of t2 yet. But on live I had more fun solo or smallscale as WE thanks to ranged kd and "charge tactic"

Witam w RoR

Order - if you looking for solo play i strongly advice you WH (ok i missed to add WL here) the best hit&run order chars - The Order in current state in t4 does not need next overated rdps (SW) or annoying quasi healer (AM). If you decide to play this side you will face usually destro premades or zerg consisted mostly from melee chars. Order rdpses are not able to survive long in such environment without proper group support (even if they have some tools to kite etc 1 or 2 well placed cc and you are dead). In fact i might advice you to choose a tank as 1 char (especially Kotbs its extremely easy to level up) to check current state of the game.

Thanks guys, those are good tips for beginning. I am happy to see that shaman was mentioned few times because he is my personal favourite for this job : ) I am positively surprised that WL is on the list too. I will definitely look into him.

Reading all answers I was wondering why order have better range dps while destro got better melee dps? It is about class design or just sheer numbers (I mean dmg, not numbers of players)?
