Question about gear

Last time I played was a few patches before the shutdown, so I have no idea to what extent the developers here are willing or able to adjust the game. My most immediate question relates to gear, because one of my favorite characters before I stopped playing was a melee healing warrior priest. However, as I remember it, it was damnably difficult to get geared for it because there was very little melee specific gear until you got to Sovereign, and only then because Mythic made two sets with separate stat focuses.

My question is what, if anything, might the dev team consider in order to help make this game better than the one that got shut down?

If y'all are open to suggestions, I'd love to see top tier gear sets made into equal sets with different focuses rather than a vertical progression. It's a pretty loose comparison, but in TF2, loot serves as a means to play your character differently, not be more powerful with them. For example, Annihilator could be a general stat boost set, whereas conqueror might be more defensively focused with more wounds and toughness and invader would be the opposite with higher offensive stats, etc.

I would rather have two different sets of invader (maybe even three): melee healing set, caster healing set, and a defensive set.

They reworked some sets.

For example, in tier 3, decimator armor gives willpower and tank stats for warrior priest, and they made a counter-set called Duelist that gives strength and such. theres also the new Braggart, tier 2 set i forgot, and Mercenary sets that all give offensive stats and are obtained from emblems gotten in Scenarios, while the RvR sets are more "traditonal" to your classes role (tank stats for ironbreaker etc)

Also, all gear that gives +X to path tree, now instead literally gives you 1 mastery point in that tree, allowing you to take another ability or tactic in that tree, or just +1 into the tree for the passive bonuses
