Authentication error-terminating program

My friend has been trying to get in to ROR for two weeks and nothing has worked it just says Authentication error- then closes terminating program, we have tried un checking read only, reinstalling, turning off fire wall, run in admin, and none of its worked he account works (i tried it at my house)
Please help us

Your friend most likely has a program running at the same time that is preventing it. If they got any form of utility software from company's such as Asus etc, try stopping them and logging in again. Perform virus scans, malware scans and registry cleaner with Ccleaner also.

Hey what should we be looking for when you say utility's hes running windows 10 on a asus laptop

ok we tried both of thos and it gave the same error.
