Return of Reckoning

As it is, WAR has four classes for each race. A tank, a healer, a mdps, and a rdps. Basically, all the races have the four same archtypes. In a fantasy, for a lack of a better word, or another universe outside our own, lets wonder if there was a 5th class, a 5th archtype. What would it be? Or, what could it be?

Would it be another dps class? A support role? Maybe some sort of rogue-stealth based class, like WE and WH but more support focused perhaps. Would it be a heavy armored dps? To accomodate for all the 2h tanks out there. Or would it be a hybrid, a mix between two archtypes. How would you picture it?

I picture the 5th class to not be another archtype, but something unique to each race. It'd be a hero class, maybe something you would have to unlock. I picture the return of the Hammerer class to the dwarves, executioners for the Dark Elves, savage orcs for the greenskins, greatswords for the empire, sea guards for high elves, and some sort of berserker for chaos. What do you imagine, or fantasize, a 5th class would be? What would you like to see if ever there could be one?

I'd say ccbot. Engineer can do this in t4 but suffers from shared cc immunities. If these were changed for magus/engi, it could cause a lot of chaos and be a viable cc prim/dps secondary class.

I honestly think that a forum section named 'Fantasies of players' should be made as there's a lot of topics far from being a suggestion
As for me - there are already 24 classes, each got some worse or better background. I wish I had time to explore each one of them and adding aditional won't help me with that

Slaver for the Dark Elves. Melee class that has AE snares(throws nets) and maybe a strong single target cc (lasso) with a burst set up where he beats someone with a whip haha. it fits really well with dark elf lore too. Or like a beast master maybe with most of his dmg coming from his pets.

Empire maybe carroburg greatswords, halberdier, flagellant or like an Ulrician templar.

Orks I am not so sure. I think maybe a Night goblin or something. Those guys with the giant wrecking ball

Dwarves I would go with a Hammerer (somewhere between IB and slayer as far as dmg and tankiness) or a Ranger would be cool.

Chaos it'd be cool to have like some sort of demon to play since the hordes of chaos do have demons in their armies. Maybe a Bloodletter for a berserker type melee. I personally would like to see something more Nurgle themed tho

High elves? eh...Sea guard would be cool. a shield and spear type melee. I'm not a big fan of high elves so I dont care lol

Gona have to agree with peterthepan3. In, arguably, the best rvr game ever (daoc) every grp run with atleast 1 dedicated CC class, making that, i guess, the 5th class. CC is something i miss a lot in WAR and added so much to gvg in daoc.

I would go for support, something along the lines of Enchanter/Bard from Everquest, or if DaoC is more familiar... Minstrel/Bard/Skald/Mentalist etc (sorry i dont know WoW to draw much comparisons)

If i was going to do that, it would be;

a melee damage dealer type with a lot of damage adding group buffs and single target CC's that can be used at range. (with their own damage add buff their dps should be comparable to other melee damage dealers)

a melee tanky hybrid type with a lot of defensive group buffs and aoe healing over time, and some aoe snare effects (again with their own buffs they should be about as good as regular tanks)

a ranged hybrid damage/healer, ranged aoe CC effects and group regenerations for AP. Maybe a pet.

the 5th class...hmmm... A shemal baybe !!!
