crash before char select

The game was fine last night and today I get to the handshaking part and the game just closes itself with no errors.
Any idea on what might be wrong?
EDIT:
I have no explanation why but after a reboot it magically worked again... I so wish I could get error messages from the client instead of these silent crashes... (the problem occurred on a fresh boot as well as I don't leave my system on when I'm not using it...)
