If it is a mine , why is it visible by the enemy ?

then shouldnt it be hidden ? because if the enemy sees it and is a lil bit wise (a lil bit i said) he will just pick another path , so , aint this a lil retarded ? i mean for exemple in WoW , imagine u could see all the hunter trap ?
