As much i appreciate the work you guys put into this, the struggle to keep the players happy and what not... what's the point of that Cosmetic Vendor selling starter items for 8 gold (2 pieces) ?
If this was an attempt to balance economy... it's bad. Besides the pieces being ugly as heck, you don't even need to buy them. Make a new char, trade/use the Alternate Ap. bug and there you go.
My suggestion, if you wanna try to get some balance in the economy with something like that is add more and unique appearance items but not the starter gear.. i mean come on , really? Add idk, diff appearance mounts with the same stats?

Also a subject very much discussed and given attention to, economy...
Dropping the prizes on PVP kill quests.. good idea , bad idea ...opinions differ.
From my point of view (i earned my gold doing pve but that is only because i have a bunchload of time on my hands lately and heck.. i like pve from time to time- farmed for frags, sold them REALLY cheap - gave away a lot of them for free....) not everybody has the time or is willing to drop what they like doing most, pvp'ing, for pve. Afaik we keep on being encouraged that this is a pvp server and we get all we need from that. It is tho, not like that. Indeed we got quests to help us get medallions faster and such but still...the push for this being a pvp server when we are pretty much obliged to pve for silver to actually go pvp... dunno.
I know some of you will get back saying: oh but crafting, you can make gold out of it. Oh but killing mobs, pve (read above^) kill monsters, sell the items, etc. To make gold out of crafting you will need people buying your stuff. People will not buy your stuff because they will craft stuff for themselves. And even if, with the fail crafting rate atm, god damn (i have all the crafting/cultivating skills maxed yet i still prefer buying stuff - why? - cause i rather pay for it than waste my nerves and time on it and gold too... cause that shiznit is expensive, but yea the gold we have now, thinking it's much will get lost eventually- ofc some people rather do it, my respect to them.)
I feel sorry for the new players which will really have a HARD time even buying a mount,even the NPC RP gear. Not even gonna talk about talis or such.
What i am trying to say, and i did probably miss mentioning quite a few things here, my apologies, is that i am more than sure that we can come up with something that will eventually balance the economy. Either if it will be by a gold wipe or by other means.
Even tho it might not seem like it, i have faith that the staff will do everything in their power to make us, the players, enjoy the game as much as possible.

Also, i do hope my thread will not cause any issues or arguments among players/staff ...you know what i mean... keep the comments clean, civilized and no insults or whatsoever. We all might share different opinions of the subjects, yet our goal is the same, to play on this server and enjoy it as much as possible.

The problem is our economy is almost completely RNG based if you want any kind of real vertical progression.

I have played for like a whole month and made maybe 500g? But I get one lucky brigands drop and I instantly sell it for 1.5k gold...

Removal of purple/blue gear from PvE means salvaging is less lucrative, although it does allow you to salvage inf gear etc... Also this means brigands etc... items are extremely rare and with gold inflation it is literally impossible for anyone to be able to afford these items unless they themselves win a brigands lottery. Purple and blue item drops also effect talisman market.

I know purples/blues where removed because of scripters/bots, but the game is honestly not that big... can't you just give GM's a list of TP coords of known good spots to check every hour or so to make catch/prevent scripters?

Increasing the droprate of blues/purples in PvP would also go a long ways to making the economy something people could get into more easily.
