New Player advice

So I'd like to give this game ago, since I missed it back when it came out.
Any side in particular that needs more players? (Destruction seemed to have more players earlier, now it's order)
Any classes in particular that are needed? (I know it's always healers, but I'll hopefully ask if it's any other one)
Anything I could read or watch that would help me figure this game out as a beginner?
I've been told that leveling doesn't take to long is this correct?
Hopefully I'll see you guys ingame soon

Just look at the classes in the Charcreation window and decide yourself what you see most fitting. I can just tell you, "everything" is "always" needed on both sides. Dont even care to ask what you should play, just pick what you find looks best

But there's nothing more frustrating than picking class x just to find out that 80% of the server picked x too.
I want to pick something that will be useful with the current player compositions and I'm the kind of generalist that can find any class fun to play. I really do not mind.

Pretty much everyone has multiple classes and everything is here in abundance. If you want to avoid playing _useless_ classes on the other hand: Do not play Shaman/Archemage as damagedealer and do not play melee Shadowwarrior

So the threads about lack of healers aren't up to date anymore?

They always and never are. Like i said, tides turn so fast that you really dont need to care about it

Same thing regarding faction balance or racial balance(I heard PvP is somewhat seperated across the races)?
If it is, I'll just go ahead and make a dwarven runepriest then.
Is there any good site with resources (guides, tipps etc.) regarding this name?
I have to admit I don't know anything as far as mechanics and concepts of this game are concerned (except for the lore of course).
Thanks for the replies so far.

RvR (PvP) is across certain Zones that belong to the corresponding races, but every class and race can participate there so dont worry about that. Guides is somewhat difficult, since this is an emulator, but generally a lot of information can be found here on the forums. Basic game knowledge (if youre not completely new to MMOS) comes just by playing and looking at what the Game provides to you.
PS: First step with the downloade game once youre ingame -> ESC -> Customize Interface -> Mods/Addons and disable all but Buffhead and maybe Groupicons.

Eh, I prefer to be well informed before I set my foot in a game like this, but I guess it can't be helped.
This game comes with preinstalled addons? How convenient.
Thanks for all the advice,
