Since some people missed the post yesterday here is a link to the new sections rules. Id suggest reading them as they are not like the rules for the rest of the forums

Going to note that they seem to be a lot more serious about infractions, so if you go in and respond to threads with "l2p scrub" or "u cant nerf x class because y class has this", you will probably get banned.
Nicely written rules too, better than ive seen in most forums.

The simplified version is that we mark threads we're interested in and give 2 weeks' notice. The discussion begins in earnest, and at the end of that period we pick out solutions we feel will work and propose them for adoption. We're relying on the idea that the community will reduce the number of solutions to one or two in most cases, so that we can focus the discussion on those and see what the consensus will be.
There is always going to be a subjective element to this and that's unavoidable.

I believe you may have responded to a post that I deleted. In fairness, I deleted because of my own inability to fully read your thread. I did not read that last paragraph where you did, in good detail, objectively outline the vetting process of a proposed changed.
I think you have done an excellent job communicating your planned approach and I'm happy to see it is quite objective (something I had previously feared was not the case, but again that is more due to my own failure to fully read your rule-guidelines).

Re discussion of Balance:
If you want balance, only allow 3-4 of the best players of each realm comment, of the level of Bretin, etc. Make the forum private. There are only a handful of people who actually understand the game and classes, but many who think they do. The KOTBS shatter enchantment discussion is a classic example.
Blizzard do not ask plebs and casuals about balance, they look at pro games and ask the best players.
Allowing everyone to have a say is detrimental to balance talks. And before you jump on me with censorship comments, just remember it is like this in all the real competitive games.

I know who I would vote for.

We will take seriously any post that takes the discussion itself seriously. If you can express your ideas and opinions in a manner that is on-topic, free of ad hominem attacks and the usual logical fallacies, and adds to the discussion, then those ideas and opinions will be listened to. In other words, "If you can follow the rules..."
If an opinion is a minority view then it might not be implemented, but it will be considered if it is presented well.
