Return of Reckoning

Im trying to figure out whats happening with my ROR client. Ive been playing on this server since the beginning of this summer and then I took about 2 months pause (from end of October till now). I wanted to play sooner, but everytime I try to play I just get constant FPS drops and lag spikes - my game is running on Fastest Framerate option in video. Previously I had like 20-30 FPS and the game felt running smoothly. Now the framerate goes from 1- 10 FPS no matter what I do or where Im or number of ppl who are online. Everytime I try to use a skill I get a 0,5 - 1 sec lag spike till the effect and animations triggers. I tryied to disable all addons - it helped a bit for a while. Every 10 sec or so the game speeds up to 25-30 FPS but only for a blink of an eye. Then it goes down again. When I try /reloadui game speeds up back to norml FPS but again only for about 1 sec, then again drop to slideshow. Also FPS gets better when I try windowed mode, but is still far from smoothness of the game before November.

I can play other games like WT or ARMA 2 quite fine, nothing changed here. But ROR became litteraly unplayable for me

Any ideas? Please help...

Allright I think Ive got it, the FPS drops are due to the server lags. Ive tryied to turn the internet off while I was ingame and "voila" 60 FPS! turned the internet on, reloged and "ouch" 12 FPS. Tryied to run the game on several different connections so it looks like the fault is on the server side.

Hah, my crafting bag was messed up, dozens of items were "circling" in one item spot. Emptied those buggy items into the bankers vault and BANG 60 FPS!

Going to keep this thread up for anyone with same problems like me

I'm just struggling massively to find a fix for fps drops. In huge wb vs wb fights when everyone is casting all they have in their sleeve, I'm getting like 1-2s stucks, where my game freezes an unfreezes. It's for sure not network lag.
It's a pain because I'm certain that hardware isn't an issue (I was running wither 3 on ultra with above 60fps).

I've tested almost every crucial addon with different settings like wsct, daocbuff, buffhead, buffthrottle, every game setting and video options themself... Still has not found an solution.

And the lag and fps drops are back, the game is unplayable when there is more than 10 ppl on screen. Disabled every addon, still 3-5 fps in fights or when there is more than a grp of ppl. Getting constantly killed by invisible ppl - they just dont load up fast enough, so i cant target them, but they kill me in 3-5 sec.

Any advice how to fix it?

Running i5,4gb ram, hd radeon 5600 - can play arma 2/war thunder on solid details, running ROR on minimal grafic settings.

Capping the frames to 60 in something like rivatuner (what i use for WAR) could help you get rid of unnecessary overhead, or use vsync if you can stomach the input lag.

in terms of in game settings, only things that are gonna give you major performance boosts are gonna be to things like lighting/shadows and effects.


It might also just be case of this game being laggy no matter what you do or what rig you have. P

Yeah i have simular problem,in IC not in WB's,fps drops to 2-3 for 4-5 sec (sometime crash),then go to 25-30 again,my averge fps is 35 on max settings(1280x1024),but im using low graphic card ATI 5450 HD 1gb with 4gb of ram and Inte 2 Quad 2.5 ghz
Maybe try turn off you'r AA and V-Sync in you graphic card driver settings

i don't think the problem is about your computer, got i-7 4770, 970 gtx 4G and 16G ram and a ssd.
playing with 99 fps sometimes avg 80.
And sometimes like you fall to 1 fps for a few sec.

Fps drop happen alone or in a wb vs wb fight so isn't due to too much aoe display, like in Diablo 3 when you run with a bunch of sorcerer or witch doctor ^^"

But i noticed it was always near keep or Bos in rvr map maybe this is a hint for dev guys reading this post

Aza said it could be due to packets that they don't understand yet. Also down to a terrible engine.

Fights were fine on live but always around 20fps. Here it's worse but we just gotta hope and pray a solution is one day found.
