So I searched for the WAR.exe file and I couldn't even find that. did a complete search on my C drive and pulled up nothing. I am getting my files straight from the game CD's, so ill try a uninstall and reinstall.

As Tiggo pointed out, the original discs won't work as there is no way to update it to the latest version.

Hello,

Here is the problem. Downloaded game via torrents. Downloaded luncher. Moved game to different directory to avoid torrent issues. Puted luncher in correct directory ....And it doesnt work - at last not properly. After running luncher i receive this info:

Error starting: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): Operacja została anulowana przez użytkownika
at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start()
at RoRLauncher.Client.Handle(PacketIn packet)

I already tried everything posted in forum main thread - and error window changed - see below. But funny part is, that despite this pop up window game is running - at least I see picture with tents (character screen) I can see credits and chenge settings but thats it - no info in box about being logged or any chance to create character - nothing.
I guess it can be important - I am still Windows XP user.

So after tryng solutions form main thread my error box started to give this:

Data.myp:
System.InvalidOperationException: Category does not exist.
at System.Diagnostics.PerformanceCounterLib.CounterExists(String machine, String category, String counter)
at System.Diagnostics.PerformanceCounter.InitializeImpl()
at System.Diagnostics.PerformanceCounter..ctor(String categoryName, String counterName, String instanceName, Boolean readOnly)
at System.Diagnostics.PerformanceCounter..ctor(String categoryName, String counterName, String instanceName)
at MYPHandler.MYPHandler..ctor(String filename, del_FileTableEventHandler eventHandler_FileTable, del_FileEventHandler eventHandler_Extraction, HashDictionary hashDic)
at RoRLauncher.Client.UpdateWarData()

Already canceled read only on whole folder. And still can enter character sreeen but with same results.

did you follow this?

The launcher doesn't work! The log contains the following:

at System.Diagnostics.PerformanceCounterLib.GetStringTable(Boolean isHelp)
at System.Diagnostics.PerformanceCounterLib.get_NameTable()
at System.Diagnostics.PerformanceCounterLib.get_CategoryTable()


You need to rebuild performance counters. How to manually rebuild performance counters:
1- Go to start, and type in the search box "cmd". Right click cmd, and run as administrator.
2- Type in the command console, "cd c:\windows\system32", and hit enter.
3- Then type "lodctr /r", and hit enter.

It will take a few seconds to perform the command.Performance counters should be rebuilt. Try starting the game again.

If that does not work, type

lodctr /e:PerfProc

instead.

I hate this being my first post, but when I open up the game and log into it, it opens up the program but it is just a black windowed screen, and does not change after waiting for a while, so I don`t know what to do. Anyone know why it is showing up black?

what is the name of the file you clicking to "open up the game" ?

I am opening it with the RoRLauncher.exe

Gonna try reinstalling everything.

Update: Reinstalled everything, seems to be working now.
