Mate. Every time new stuff is released what happens? The server gets flooded, then it dies back down after a month or 2. But the avg playerbase keeps rising, at least during my NA time. Yea, people left. Hell, morfee left. But then guess who came back and grinded up Conq? The further along the server gets, the more people will want to play. Oh yea, and you want to talk about why people aren't active? HOW ABOUT THE RR ROLLBACK?! that is the number 1 reason I hear for why people aren't hardcore. They play, but meh. All this RR is gonna get lost anyways(I'm not even gonna get into the players leaving due to perceived personal issues with dev/gm team.)...
Stop talking as if you speak for a major portion of the playerbase. You speak for yourself, and I speak for me. Feel free to actually think about my question though. Cause it does Exist. The time/effort to gain Conq might be very similar to the pain in gaining the next sets. If not worse. It's time for you to change your thought process towards gear. Or just go take a break from the game till the prices drop.
Lol a compromise between hardcore players and casuals... That make me LOL IRL.
Did i say that we, the players have to find the middle ground? no, i didn't. i meant as a community we should all try to find a middle ground where neither party is left out, not the more casual playerbase or the hardcore players. what we have now only satisfies a really small group of players and as i said, even hardcore players are quitting.
Also it's not a RR rollback but it's an RR compression. those are 2 different things that you apparently did not understand when they were announced. And i did not see a single person complain about the compression since it was announced, and besides the community of RoR seems more interested on gear, not RR.
Besides, i've never said i speak for the major portion of the playerbase, but having studied social sciences for quite a while i can tell you that the majority of players have an opinion closer (not the same) to mine. My 15+ friends, guildies that have quit the game because the insane grind do, it's probably more than those that agree with you on your elitist opinion.
I'll conclude by saying that if you think finding the middle ground between two different opinions (besides, i said the more casual, not the completely casual playerbase that logs in 3hrs a week) makes you "LOL IRL", you either are really young or you can just have all you want without any difficulty at all.
You're set on this elitist attitude and i know that whatever happens you will not change your opinion anyway, so we'll have to agree that we disagree (see, we just reached a middle ground. Yay)

If we're speaking strictly about gear, that would be the driving force behind players leaving... There are other mechanics that are less fun that also impact the player base, but honestly the latest patch proves that the devs do try to solve problems that exist. That's enough for me to trust that thoughts shared by the community do hold weight and do get discussed.
That's what i'm trying to say since the conq - domi gear came out.
Most of the players are NOT quitting because of the prices, but because they feel they aren't making any progress towards their carrot. the quest that gives medalions in RvR is a huge step in the right direction and it makes players feel they are making progress. Especially the tanks and healers that have a much more difficult time farming those.
