Wrong direction. If 2h tanks lose out on Guard (which they should, they're opting for a less defensive setup) they should be given something that allows them to counter foe Guards.
so 2h tanks shouldn't use guard at all? that would bring up a future guard problem on SCs or oRvR. because I began to recognise more and more 2handers. but guard is a core ability of the entire gameplay. some classes depend on Guard to grow out and show full potential

Dont misunderstand him here Brenzler. Nowhere he said tanks should Not be using guard. He just said OTHER tanks with a 2h should work better AGAINST guard.

2H tanks are a more offensive setup but if you lock them out of the good stuff from the tank archetype you need to give them them more from the MDPS kit. If you're going for some new niche, like tankbuster, then you are talking about a whole new meta entirely. I'm normally all for alternative spec viability but WAR's approach to PVP/RVR tanking is so unique it would be a shame to limit it to specialists within the tank archetype.

2H tanks for me should occupy the position between tank and MDPS, supported by some kind of interaction with Guard. You sacrifice your block, Hold The Line! and the power of your Guard, so not every tank / controlling ability has to be taken away in exchange for more damage.

This idea was discussed before on the Bioware forums. One idea that came up was that 2H tanks could sacrifice a tactic slot to keep some of the lost benefits. Would that be a possibility?

Further down the line it could be - but you'd have to make both 2H and S&B viable playstyles on every tank first, before looking at using tactic slots in that way.

I think there is something really good here. DW gives a defensive buff. Find one for the 2H and i think we got something.

I would like to know which tank is not viable in either 2h or snb yet.

No real issues with Great Weapons being in their current stage, we need to get to T4 and looking at the way the sets are remade in T3 there is a lot of to be tested by players.
Here is the discussion either on the irrelevant T3 balance or T4 live memories, not going to be a part of it.

Its not a matter of viable, its a matter that the SnB version is far far superior that in group play there is no real reason to take the 2h variant over the SnB one
