On a completely different note, having absolutely nothing to do this quote.....I think Sorcs need a massive massive buff. We are very underpowered. Is there anyway you can make every ability 1 shot everyone and possibly do enough damage to delete their character enterly?
Sarcasm/joking aside, we all fall victim to our human bias as well.
I try and stay as subjective and unbiad as possible when looking at games as a whole, but we are all colored by our experiences and bias.

If you want RoR to be balanced for grp vs grp you better ask people that frequently have a premade up and run it successfully.

And then all the active population left is some roaming groups around and people bitching that no one plays this fantastic game.
As much as i love roam, if you ask me what would make the game better for everyone, i have no **** clue and i guess its the same for most people who run premades.
Balancing around top end is a great way to make your game a ghosttown.

Obviously 1on1 can't be balanced since we have archetypes of classes like rdps heal etc.
24vs24 can't be balanced because there are just too many options. An inequality in numbers (mostly rvr) is unbalanced on default.
Grp vs grp is left and it seemed to be the intention of the original devs to balance that.
So is there any valid reason to not aim to balance grp on grp but sth else?

The fact that more than 6 people are on each side actively fighting every time?
If 6vs6 can be balanced, so can 24vs24.
Hell, guard doesnt exist so 6vs6 is a eternal stalemate, it exists so 24vs24 lasts more than 10 seconds. Aoe caps are not something that never existed and most of the things that are limited to groups are not because the balance was aimed there, its just because them affecting 24 people instead of 6 would be ridiculous.
And as i said, i love roaming as much as anyone can love it but War is a game about big scale fights, not 6 man groups.

You cannot balance for 24 v 24 it is impossible there are far too many factors
6v6 is the highest level of play that is what we need to balance for
