By the time you reach 39 you will have:

Spammable tough debuff, spammable wounds debuff, 25% incoming target leech heal with 150% uptime

The highest non morale armor debuff in the game that is almost as good as sunder with 100% uptime

Guaranteed crits with gioutine on any target with 49% hp or below along with growing instability that is even better than stab you godder

Along with 3 other notable tactics: rend asunder, deeply impaled and feeding on fear

As well as your ST root, great fang M2 and tzeetchs reversal M3

This isn’t even talking about all the other potent abilities mara has or how strong touch of rot becomes
Mara is strong FAR before 39 and PB is just the icicng on the cake I don’t think you realize the power of this class

You don't get all that stuff together in one build until level 38.

What you listed their is the cookie cutter apex build for Mara

Growing instability is better b/c you can reliably procs crits gioutine

You said tha Mara is not good till 39 with pb by 28 he has tb cutting claw and most importantly tainted claw which will make Mara the most survivable of all mdps considering that you already have the highest armor n stuff as well as confusing movements + death grip giving you 12s of a melee target being able to do nothing against you

I was just making a build that had everything tenton said, and its not like you can really play around much with these trees, they are pretty simplistic.

regardless of what spec mara chooses at 28 he is going to miss either his utility or his damage until around max level. Choppa w/ their heal debuff being moved down from 13 points to 5 has propelled them above mara as the top MDPS on destro until the late 30's imo.

Is TB/Cutting claw and a 100% uptime healdebuff really worth taking a mara over another choppa in your premade when they will be dealing significantly less damage? Maybe...probably.

Your basing these statements based on a temporary solution by the devs?

A change the will be reverted in time? Or are you making these based on the current state of the game where their are still bugs, all classes are only 22 and the game is hardly balanced

Yes taking a Mara is worth is b/c of the sheer utility the class provides, chops may have the highest dps potential on destro but Mara provides both dmg and utility and gioutine is not Mara only dmging ability savagery debuffs are very strong and they add to make his dmg very strong

Yes, are you even reading my posts? this discussion was never about lvl 40 t4 endgame, but the current, and near future state of the game.

Which means the whole discussion is basically moot, as I don't think Az or anyone else on the dev team is going to be doing any balance changes until level 40, which is fine by me. It's just fun to BS, and I already knew there is no way I'm going to get away with making choppa look good w/ you and cory on the case lol :^)

I thought the entire point of this discussion was arguing over whether Mara is viable before 39 with pb

Choppa is good, not slayer good but still good at doing it's doing it's job espically if the devs choose not to implement some rr stuff like cw, rd and most import tb which will make crit stack choppa very strong

it's just that running x2 choppa isn't a effective as running 2 slayers and in many ways it better to run Mara + chop because of all the utility and versatility Mara brings
