The team is practically in control, yes. I'm a volunteer player and consider myself to be of only frivolous importance to the entire playerbase. What irks me about your question is that it's too black-and-white. Either a free-for-all safe haven for everyone to enjoy this project by playing it as an actual game, or a developer playground in which the players don't matter; only the staff does. Truth is, we wouldn't be here without the players. We'd have no reason to develop the game if not for the intent of having people play on it. Your question pretty fallacious, to be honest.

i dont understand your "volunteer player" in an RvR game using:

Gumthorr Grimmbeard < Order Biased >
Necrosis Regicide < Fusion >
Mootzig Schmootzig < Nazgul >

is dificult to me to respect this gameplay, i think the staff should not promote the x-realm (only my modest opinion)

That seems extremely irrelevant from the topic at hand, but I'll bite.

I don't include my faction allegiance either by stating class or indicating realm colour. I play on both realms to know issues that relate to the game in-general, and what differs between the two realms. I think it'd be more unfair to focus solely on one realm, while neglecting the other, as a database developer. I do not promote x-realming and actually try to refrain from it completely by being active on my IB as my main character. Yet I'd also like to be known on my Destruction characters for when it is necessary for me to switch over. People need to know me on both sides to prevent exclusion.

btw if you can tell to other staff members, that talk in forum " i checked my order toon than i moved to destro" is not a good way to promote the game ;p

in my opinion the staff members should have all the goodies( engies with mara skills) nothing less

almost forget that destro players like to see Elven in a destro mount in midle of IC while we farm "enraged souls"
