Better dumbed down and working than un-usable. Also, WP can't outheal big spikes, never could. WP was an AOE-heal machine. Just like DoK. They even mirrored the cleansing ability after some time on the officials severs. If anything, DoK is superior:
- Higher DPS
- Same heal output
- Working, useful Covenants
DPS cannot be fixed without hilarious amounts of work, so at least mirror the Covenants (or Prayers if you want to nerf DOK).
You are ofc entitled to an opinion. However I don't share your view on things

The performance of the class isn't based on one ability. Balancing one ability at a time inevidtbly leads to true mirrors. WAR never had true mirrors and I think this is a strength not a weakness.

I totally agree but at the first look on those abilities from both sides, the doo looks more powerful I would say. Just saying

Thats not totally true. When the DoK/WP was given their resource free single target heal. They became the best healer in every department. The problem was with double/single exploited lotd talismans they could reach very high crit levels. This gave the higher base heal a advantage over other healers. As it was resource free it couldn't be drained and could be cast while using flee.
Before this change and the lotd exploited talis the WP/DoK was a grouphealer that needed a second healer to handle burst. When they messed up the balance with the new heal and talismans double WP/DoK group could now handle burst as well as being far superior group healers.

Bring back WAR like it was first before you talk about class balance. There is so much work to do first and so much bugs open. What about the stuck animation bug? Its still there. It takes years until the game will be as it was before they shut down the servers. bring the game back first and then talk about changes.

That is the point you can't look one ability at a time or even a class at a time. Balance needs to be performed @ 6vs6 and 24vs24.
The downsides
- T1-T3 possibly unbalanced
- A class relative soft-mirror can be "better" or "much better"
- Balance is way harder
Positives
- More diversion (24 classes x 3 spec trees = 72 play styles). Before 1.4.X we even had gear on top of this
- Breaks the boring rock, papper, scissors
- Keeps us busy arguing about it
Having mirrors soon raises the voice to mirror within a factions archetypes leading to 4 "classes" and 0 players

WPs are very capable in healing single targets. Our lotd group had only one healer and it was a wp. His "divine mend" could heal for about 4k. The same goes for the dok.
Those two classes can heal far to good in any aspect, in relation to their defense. Their single target heals should be their weakness, to create some need for the cloth healers.
The whole "faction x is better than faction y, because of skill z" discussion is as old as the game.
Every faction as a whole has something special.

Since I'm tired of seeing the denial, I've posted an additional section to the OP detailing just how the calculation problems overpower BW/Sorc.

eh well, that heal wasn even in game, it was add after dok/wp aoe heal nerf, cos those 2 classes should most heal trough aoe healing, and they done it well and now they even have a st op heal....worst of all that heal consume AP and well dok in high tier never use soul rec so you are always plenty of ap.
Definetly something to look out in future.
