SH are irritating as anything. I created my first WH on Life specifically so that I could take out my agro upon SH. They were my WP nemesis'. I just don't like them at all.
Having said that, they are relatively easy to kill. The only 2 real "issues" are;
A, When you get ganked by one, you're pretty much boned if they know what's-what if they get the drop, but this is similar for most classes, the SH just makes you feel like a dork at times.
B, Their small frame can make them difficult to find at times if you don't have proper addon's.
I have never felt any pet was OP. Well... Except when you feel like screwing with someone, and use healers to keep a WL pet alive while it is harassing... No RR for Killing pets:, and lions can be down right irritating... Squiqs? not so much.
Go nerf squig herder pet damage....
