There was only a handfull active Magi on live so I assume they no valid specs. Was so funny in the events with kill X of Magus / Engie :)

Too much theory crafting here.

The Sorc/Bw skills to recover 160 AP are great, you don't need anything else.

The Sham/AM 130 drain are useful and needed, but they are not instant and you can cleanse them. Nevertheless a very good skill.
The numbers might be higher but the point is, it's not instant. You want AP when you need it and you want it fast. An AP over time skill is useless, when not attacking constantly - because at this time you need no AP anyway.

I assume pet classes simply got fewer/worse AP regen skills, because they have a pet. Same goes for WL or SH.
The turret/demon-based AP regen for Engi/Magus was added later and is only useful for Pullbots and PvE Specs.

You are right with your "***"-remarks.

PS: There are very valid ST specs for Magus.
Don't get confused because most Magus thought they have to make a tank-ish spec and melee their enemies. Or had no dignity at all and spend their existence as pullbot.
Dying is no option.

Of course, when you're RR100, with WF procs, Magus Boc + svf (with 20% pet, elemental resist, and WS DOT) did pretty sexy damage.

Pfft and you still hadn't met my dps zealot and ranged dok (both actually worked fine).

even before the rr80+ patch there were quite some speccs possible. ppl just never bothered to think about what would work and what not. if you adapt your team to some 'curios' speccs they can work extremely well - its a teamgame after all.

Aza any news on maybe an upcoming update on the skills even before T2 ? : >

A couple of things will need to be fixed before that can happen.

yes that's definetly true, back in time when sov was the bets set around and order gone around with onyl wb slottet in wbs we had to get head of the fact that we had few sorc, lot of choppa and lot of squigs, so my old old old guild came up with somekind of frontal AOE gameplay based on squig with less radius but more powerfull. It worked well.

Nowhere near the damage a shaman or archmage can deal, only big numbers on the scoreboard due to aoe damage. Well, I don't really care about it, play it if it makes fun.

... but RANGED DOK  What a perversion. Like playing AM as melee dps.
