I don't know much about this stuff, but your post looks a lot like my own. Did you get the new 3.0.0 launcher? That fixed my problem.

I'll get that downloaded and that will probably work fine as it did work earlier for me as I did play for about an hour just to get a feel for the game =)
I should have probably read a few pages back just to make sure I wasn't the only person going through this.
Good thing Age of Wonders crashed else I wouldn't have noticed for a few more hours =P
Sorry about wasting anyone's time but if you want you can call me a derp and laugh at me. =)
Just downloaded it all and its work now so that I can access the launcher, I did have an issue where the launcher would close itself after connecting but there was another thread about that which I followed the same way they fixed the problem and it work for me. Thanks for all the help people =)

Redownloaded the client from torrent and the launcher from here http://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/ ... ?f=11&t=18 I have windows 7, no antivirus active (but the client at start says I do have windows defender, while it's deactivated) I have updated windows (yesterday they weren't updated and I thought that was the problem) and I installed Net framework 4.5. I have put all the files of the launcher in the game folder and when I use the Return of reckoning.exe button as administrator the interface takes a while to load and when it does it doesn't have the connect button as usable and it shows this message
