Has anyone mentioned how absolutely busted Guilty Soul is yet? I didn't read any of this thread just for context. Maybe tone down the hardest hitting ability in the game before you give dps WP more aoe.
It's a strong dot. It's just irrelevant how strong it is if the AoE output is subpar even with it in the picture.
Hey guys dont focus on this op stuff
‐------------------>look over here instead where we want more op stuff.
Can you please elaborate on your point? Specifically what about WP's aoe damage kit is overpowered? They're calculated to be doing mediocre damage, that is up to 50% behind classes like Mara depending on the gear of the target. What specifically about Guilty Soul makes AOE DPS WP overpowered?

I really recommend you show evidence and your proofs if you're going to make statements like "50% less damage than mara depending on target gear!!"
That's not even close to true. I could go and test it but a Mara with WoM ticking and channeling Wrecking Ball is probably very close to WP with Guilty Soul, Soulfire, Smite Spam with Procs. Mara filling with Demos between Wrecking Balls is much lower. Sure, there's a utility argument.
I personally don't like your idea to rework Soulfire because it affects both ST & AoE. I like the idea of WP having something like DE and a movement speed buff/gap closer. However, WP has Sigmar's Shield which is kind of a mirror to DE, and you don't want DE, it just got nerfed into the ground for the.. 6th time?
Soulfire is not hard to use.
Spirit Damage on spam skills is probably a bad idea. They tried this with White Lion at one point and it was grossly overpowered. I'm sure that your vets told you about that. Bloodlord and BiS WP have a lot of pen anyways, not to mention the highest armor debuff in the game and can easily synergize with aoe debuffs for all of their damage.
If you're going to ask everyone who posts to elaborate or provide figures, it would look super stellar if you did to start with!

I think they are referring to
my calculations here and
here.
I did a detailed analysis on 2h WP damage output of their AOE rotation per target vs the same targets as in my other calculations (here's the one
for Mara and dw DOK).
Overall I examined a ton of builds (like 90+) with and without using Soulfire (GS focused, STR+WS, mixed, etc.).
And to save people a click, here's the results of the per target rotation for the best builds I ended up finding:
Rec (aka Halcite recommended build) ended up being the best and you can see how it performs here.

This is indeed what I'm referring to. DPS WP only feels actually strong when fighting poorly geared pugs, but as you can see in the above charts, when you start fighting well geared opponents, your damage starts to drop more and more and more, increasing the gap between you and pretty much any dps class.
Thank you Left.
