On a 2 IB , yes. 1v4 is standard, anything else is subpar
On a serious note, if its IB, its still indication of bad play : no use of Runic shield, which would absorb 1200 (you have to time it to catch the WoP), no use of pot. From my experience, toughness well below 750, or he would mitigate a lot more than 25-30%.
If he is melee dps : no guard, no use of detaunt/los.
I don't understand the point of all this thread. Its simple : if damage was lower, nothing would ever die in a group fight. Healers would be insanely op. The balance isn't about how much damage dps do against 1 noob. But how much is enough to stress the healers when they heal their teammates.
The only post that made sense in this topic.

This happens from time to time even on the most geared defensive spec players. I chalk it up to assisting. When i get "deleted" I usually check my combat log only to see I got hit by 5+ (sometimes as much as a warband) players in less than 2 seconds. Assist train with everyone using addons...

Yeah, thats the thing, most addnos are cheatlike, u can setup auto macros for everything, one button assist and rotation, u dont even have to look at the screen if u have good setup, u just smash few buttons and they autotarget and autocast.
This game is not about voip, gearing or skills. Its all about good addons and good setup of them. It is autowin in most situaton. Its almost like botting, you do stuff with minimal player input.
Have u tryied healgrid? Man its like super cheating, I can setup conditional autocast and autotarget. I only need to move and smash 3 buttons. Glorious!

There are few exceptions, most top players (numbers wise) use nerfed buttons. Most of the best healers use multiple addons including keyboard macros or "other" things such as an auto detaunt.
You're right 3 buttons.

Addons are OP, I've gotten killed by people using addons.

'Addons' casts a pretty wide net. Casuals being frustrated with addons that allow scripting to bypass decision-making by the player is understandable. Is what it is though.

A lot tin-foil-head assumptions in this thread concerning addons but if it makes losing easier to accept, go with it.

i must be supper bad, im using nerfed buttons and dont kill everyone can sameone more pro sent me script for nerfed to insta kill. Thx alot

Nerfedbutton is a HUGE advantage, no doubt. It can't bypass any cooldown (remember many Oath SM go for Whispering Winds, wich decreases ability cooldowns), but has most sinergy with positional and combo-oriented classes. It is little use for healers and tanks (except for cc immunity check), but great for others, like choppa/slayers (due to peculiar mechanic), wh/we (positionals, executions), dot casters, and more. It should be limited? I think it should, but it is long since many players built their playstyle around addons, finding a reasonable balance is an hard work
