Is WP dps viable?

I would squeal with delight if Absolution converted Strength/Melee Power into Willpower/Healing Power, and vice versa for Devotion.

I like the idea of having an ability that would convert WP to STR. Another issue I see is the aboslution and devotion aura. Retribution is the only aura that is outright useful and works best for any group. The armor aura is borderline useless with Armor pots, which you and your whole group should run. The devotion prayer is alright, but it needs improvement either with the baseline ability or with its associated tactics.

IIRC the issue with the devotion aura is on how the proc is calcuated. That is to say, how the healing is triggered, and how it scales with the WP stats.

I have a feeling beastlord was designed with willpower and weaponskill for a reason, just have to be patient.

Still patient? DPS WP is just not viable, melee train support healer WP is decent in a premade in that it goes with the tanks and dps and not stays behind to get ganked or out of guard range.

Its great in solo fights and very small scale fights. But imo when the fight gets bigger the dps WP fails hard. We need to hit ppl to sustain selfheal. Its very easy to CC us and we go down like a pizza after a night at the pub whenever ranged hits us. Without someone to hit its easy to see how squishy we are. Maybe specc/gear into more survivalbility but without hard hiting skills the selfheal and dps goes down alot. The dok have a slowing aura on procc and is harder to kite.

I wanna say yes, but the reality is that the WP in melee be that dps or melee healer is gimped.

I only play WP and I do go on the offense from time to time, so it's possible...but the wp in the frontline is gimped and you can only do so much with RR and gear to fix that.
