My 2 cents for assault sw:
- Dual wielding is needed (As I mentioned some time ago it should be str/ws sword since skirmish spec is fine (unless armor amount starts to grow). Some extra parry and attacks per second would be very welcome)
- Aoe detaunt is needed (if we want to play melee sw in party but it's pretty impossible imo)
- Reducing of AP coasts - I'm not sure about it since wl as a real mdps has same problems and they're fair for me. So for me it's better to have more dmg to burst target then dance around it for X time without AP problems)

I wouldnt of though that with a as stat tactic and wrist slash we would of needs more armour pierce in melee. :idea. Certainly I remember on live our guilds assault sw Luz had more weapon skill than my slayer.

The wider thing about the assault tree for me is that everything is just blunt damage.
try remove pb from mara see how his dmg goes down, didn't say anyway perfect mirror; sw have due the bal+wep skill tactic more wep skill than a mara, the tactic should be made assoult wide working as is pb, tweek a bit as much SW need but is not mandatory have the same armor ignore.

Agree re ap costs. Not the real problem. Problem is you go into melee range with a 1h and no aoe detaunt.

Honestly I hope that we will one day see the RKD from Eye Shot being put back to Takedown and only KD'in the target with the VoN contidional like it was back on live. Having a no-requirement 98ft RKD+initiativ debuff all-in-one on 20 seconds cooldown stands above everything else.
Eyeshot's kd was on live. The changes on it, Takedown and VoN were made on patch 1.4.4. So let's keep it as it was on live

When i play on SW, i never had a problem with AP.

If SW have problem in mele range:

1. He dont know about assault bonus. SW most tanky dps in game.
2. AOE detaunt for mele sw? Why? He can use tactic for AOE detaunt, its best AOE detaunt in game.
3. If SW want play like mdps, he need tank.

Let's be honest, you play mainly Op classes :) in right time
How many times have you played for the assault SW?
Most tanking DPS is Mara.
All melee DPS have AoE detaunt w/o tactics, it turns out that for what was to SW AoE detaunt, he must give a priceless place in the tactics.

I knew someone would play the post patch-card at one point, but it still does not change anything about what I - myself - would like to see. The fact of the matter is that there is no other CC in the game that comes close to it. Let's ask the question like this: every other RKD has a contidional in the game, why shouldn't the SW one considering their initiativ debuff is linked to the exact same ability?

Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna remove the RKD from the SW, just make it more in tune with the rest of the game. This wouldn't/shouldn't ruin the scout/skirmish gameplay as it would enable the SW - as it's counterpart on destro - to further debuff(initiativ) the target before his buddies get's to/on him and not giving the target immunity straight off. It would make the better players think more about why and how to do your rotations, instead of the oh-so-trivial dot dot 3s kd.

And before anyone points out that Eyeshot does infact have a condtional(skirmish only). I only ask you this: why would you as a SW not want it on Takedown like pre patch 1.4.4? Seeing as Takedown is available both in Scout&Skirmish, it only opens up better rotations and more fluent gameplay with the stance dancing and enables the SW to do even better burst imo.

Well, first of all comparing skills (rdk's or else) over all class doesn't make any sense imo. Cause if you're into that, why WH has a 100% parry skill that WE don't? Or why marauder has a non-conditional grapple and wl don't? Classes are not mirrored nor equals, end of the line.

The VoN mechanics before 1.4.4 were crappy, it's better to have snare and kd on different skills (as I consider snare to be a "soft" cc), and silence or Feel The Weak does make stance dance already mandatory if you wanna master your SW.

If we follow your example and do not compare any skills at all to eachother - how does one determine or achieve what should be considered average or the norm in terms of balancing?

One thing I agree with is that snare is soft cc, but the whole snare and kd on diffirent skills is why the contidional was there in the first place. Overall I think you should read my previous post again and maybe try to come up with a more solid counter argument other than it was crappy. If you manage to comprehend the fact that my suggestion - actually in some ways - buffs the SW & opens up better possibilities as far as rotations go, maybe one day we can have a intellectual conversation!

...while giving up a valuable tactic slot. Asw needs ws, ws/str, 15% dmg and brutal assault tactic. You can't give any of those up.

Why would a tank currently guard an asw though? That is the point.
