If we look at the AOE abilities :

-sorcerer can do disastrous cascade with ice spikes, infernal wave and shadow knives as a second instant spell. To get an other aoe dot sorc must stand and cast gloom of the night.

All four spells can proc piercing shadows within 30feet of the caster and frozen touch.

-bright wizard can do anihilate with spreading flames, flame breath with optional detonate and backdraft. 2 additional dots instead of one, the instant spells are arguably worst for BW but they still exist and do damage

All those spells can proc explosive force within 30 feet of the caster, flames of rhuin AND wildfire AND funnel power. BW just got TWO additional procs during anihilate. They take 0 ap, 0 skill, they are there just to hit hard.

If we look at morales ruin and destruction is obviously a winner in the AOE burst damage department. It's unavailable to sorcs; instead they have darkstar cloak witch is almost useless (better getting ap drain cleansed, use reckles gathering, of wait 4seconds before doing a burst rotation instead of using a 1-min cd, we will se how it goes in T4), and wind-woved shell witch is useful but focused mind can save the sorc better than darkstar cloak and wind woven shell together.

Oh I almost forgot: you can add a dumb 20% crit chance buff for BW.

Every BW has a pocket KotBS.

Come on, every premade has one.

Not every BW have a premade, look how many "Imma-mister-solo-player" people, and just imagine THE whine they start :)

Can someone tell me why sorcs/BW are running anything but focused mind as M2?

Even in single target it is tons of dmg with 1.5 sec FB/SS if used in the right situation, and there is literally no contest if you are bomb spec.

The only answer I ever got was kings own running 5+ wizards in a premade warband and having them all drop it at the same time, which is pretty **** niche.\

900 dmg is less then a single group heal, in bomb spec my fiery blasts are hitting for 700-1300 dmg crits on unguarded targets that's like an extra ~3k AoE damage per target over 10 seconds, not to mention more freq hits to proc wildfire etc... It's absolutely insane pressure damage.

Well increasing the amount of Combustion Backlash seem a bit unfair to some, who usually prefer to run their BW/Sorc solo. I would suggest to lower resist/armour by like 25% at 100 in a bit similar way to SL/CHp.

.
You don't need FM in the AoE bomb spec.

You don't balance the game around PUG / solo play.

@soucheg why not?

Emphasis added. You compare ~40%-50% crit chance at full combustion to flat damage. The damage on tanks is quite a bit lower and bomb squads are usually not coordinated enough to go for squishy targets only. In theory a well coordinated strike using FM is probably more damage, but press 2 to win seems easier and has less counterplay to it.
